Britney Spears' sister and ex Kevin Federline finally break silence on her conservatorship
Los Angeles, California - Members of Britney Spears' family have now finally addressed the singer's conservatorship for the first time, after last week's bombshell hearing.
Jamie Lynn Spears has remained silent about her sister for years.
On Monday, that all changed.
The Zoey 101 star took to social media to address her older sister's shocking revelations during her virtual court hearing.
The actor said on her Instagram Story, "The only reason I hadn't before is that I felt like until my sister was able to speak for herself and say what she felt she needed to say publicly, that it wasn't my place, and it wasn't the right thing to do."
"But now that she's very clearly spoken and said what she needed to say, I feel like I can follow her lead and say what I feel I need to say," Jaime Lynn added.
The singer further revealed that despite her silence, she "adores" her sister and that she's been supportive of her all along.
Jaime Lynn also seemingly shaded the #FreeBritney movement by adding, "Maybe I didn't support the way the public would like me too with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you that I support my sister long before there was a hashtag and I'll support her long after."
K. Fed has also broken his silence
Over the weekend, the singer's ex-husband Kevin Federline, and her brother-in-law Jamie Watson, also offered their thoughts on Britney's new revelations.
Many may remember Britney and Kevin's turbulent marriage and acrimonious divorce after the birth of their children.
The fallout of the relationship coincided with the singer's meltdown in 2007 after she lost custody of both her sons, Jayden and Sean.
However, on Friday, Kevin's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan told Entertainment Tonight that Kevin supports what is best for his former wife.
"It doesn't matter how positive of an effect a conservatorship has had if it's having a deleterious effect and detrimental effect on her state of mind. So he supports her having the best environment for her to live in and for his children to visit with their mother in," the attorney said.
The singer's brother-in-law gave similar sentiments to the New York Post, but also made it clear that he was supporting Britney's family.
"I can assure you her family loves her and wants the best for her. I wouldn’t be around people who weren’t. Who wouldn’t want to be in support of Britney?" he shared.
During her virtual testimony, the singer confirmed long-rumored theories that she was being poorly treated by her father, Jamie.
The Toxic artist revealed that she has an IUD she is not allowed to remove and has also been placed under heavy-duty medication.
Britney's next court hearing is on July 14.
