Los Angeles, California - The princess of pop Britney Spears has defended an alleged freak-out during a dinner date with her husband Sam Asghari, and he broke his silence on the matter, too.

Britney and her husband's date night went south rather quickly as it was reported that the pop star experienced a mini freak-out. However, it seems that any strange reaction from Britney stemmed from diners trying to snap photos and videos of the singer.

As TMZ reported, eyewitnesses said Britney became "manic" and tried to hide her face behind a menu.

Shortly thereafter, her husband Sam left the restaurant in a hurry, leaving Britney at the table for a moment until she later followed his lead.

But the pop princess took to Instagram to speak out about the incident, where she admitted that she was a little drunk: "I know the news is all hyped about me being a little drunk at a restaurant … it’s like they’ll be WATCHING MY EVERY MOVE."

The 41-year-old continued to defend her actions while throwing some shade, writing, "I’m so flattered they talk about me like a maniac THEN have the balls to talk about all the negative things that happened in my past !!!"

She added, "If I become a prophet and don’t create history, we might have something y’all… I’m just KIDDING, but it’s a good thought 💭."

Luckily, Britney has someone else in her corner, too. According to Promiflash, a waiter at the LA restaurant where Britney was dining took to social media to defend the pop star, saying that she was just frustrated that other guests had not respected her privacy.

The waiter added that despite the unpleasant situation, Britney had been the nicest person.

Brit's hubby also came to her defense, writing in a since-expired Instagram story: "Don’t believe what you read online, people."

Sam also told TMZ that he didn't leave her at the restaurant out of anger, but rather to get their car so they could leave together.

As Britney's husband said, you can't always trust everything you read online.
