Brass Against singer offers apology after urinating on a fan
Daytona Beach, Florida – Rock cover band Brass Against shocked audience members and the internet during their set at the Welcome to Rockville music festival.
In a move that Brass Against has since called unexpected, lead singer Sophia Urista was filmed urinating on the face of a male fan during their set at Welcome to Rockville on November 12.
Before the incident, the band was performing a cover of Rage Against The Machine's song, Wake Up, according to NME.
During their cover of the 1992 hit song, Urista invited a fan on stage. The singer then instructed the male to lay down beside her feet, as she proceeded to pull down her pants and urinate on the man's face.
Following the event, Brass Against addressed the incident on Twitter, writing, "We had a great time last night at Welcome to Rockville. Sophia got carried away. That's not something the rest of us expected, and it's not something you'll see again at our shows."
Amid the public backlash were several fans who replied to the band's tweet in Urista's defense, with Twitter user and writer @helen saying, "She did nothing wrong it was metal as f***!"
On Tuesday, the lead singer broke her silence and offered up an apology for her actions on Twitter, noting that while she's always pushed the limits to the status quo on stage, "That night, I pushed the limits too far."
She continued, "I know that some [people] were hurt or offended by what I did. I apologize to them and want them to know that I didn't mean to hurt them."

In a separate Twitter thread, likely created in an attempt to shift the conversation away from the on-stage Incident, Brass Against asked their followers, "Well, how’s your day going?"
Unfortunately for them, this attempt to change the subject was unsuccessful, as Twitter user @avoidthehanoid responded, "Thinking about the issues of consent after I watched a video of your singer [urinating] on someone."
The band replied that it was actually a gleaming example of consent, later adding that the male who joined Urista on stage was aware of events to come.
While rock shows are known to get wild, those in attendance surely were not expecting to see a live urination take place, nonetheless, on a fan's face.
