Bob Saget found dead as entertainment world mourns veteran comedian

Orlando, Florida - Beloved comedian and actor Bob Saget tragically passed away at the age of 65, police said.

Saget, known for starring in sitcoms and shows such as Full House, was pronounced dead at a hotel room in Orlando, Florida.

Officers from Orange County Sheriff's Office were called following reports of an unresponsive man at the Ritz-Carlton hotel.

"Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room," the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

"The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene."

"Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case."

Saget had just begun his new 2022 stand up tour and had earlier tweeted about his show in Jacksonville, expressing his delight at being back performing.

"Loved tonight's show @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville. Appreciative audience," he tweeted.

"Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins for opening."

"I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight. I'm happily addicted again to this s**t."

Jim Carey led the tributes with a tweet, writing: "Beautiful Bob Saget passed away today at 65. He had a big, big heart and a wonderfully warped comic mind. He gave the world a lot of joy and lived his life for goodness’ sake."

Saget's Full House co-stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, told USA Today they were mourning a "most loving, compassionate and generous man." John Stamos, who also starred on the show, said he was "broken" and "gutted" by the shocking news.

TV host Kelly Rizzo, Saget's wife since 2018, together with his three daughters from a previous marriage, released a statement confirming the sudden passing and asking for privacy at a difficult time.
