Bad Bunny shamelessly tosses fan's cell phone in the water – and stands by it

Dominican Republic - As the saying goes, never meet your favorite celebrity, because you'll only be disappointed. That's what happened for a female follower of Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny (28).

A fan wanted to take a picture with Bad Bunny, but he didn't like the way he was approached, so he threw her phone into a nearby harbor.

The fan met her idol in the Dominican Republic and just wanted to take a photo together, but the 28-year-old, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, reacted quite differently than she had expected.

The reggaeton artist unexpectedly grabbed her cell phone and threw it straight into the nearby harbor basin, which the two were just walking alongside.

A video of the incident has been circulating on the net, showing the woman rushing up alongside the singer. Suddenly, she pulls out her cell phone, insisting that they take a selfie together. Unfortunately for her, Bad Bunny obviously didn't like it at all.

The artist explained his behavior in a Tweet, stating, "Whoever comes up to me to say hello or something else, or just to get to know me, will always get my attention and respect."

"Those who come just to put a phone in my face, I will consider them for what they are: disrespectful," he added. "And I will treat them the same way."

Bad Bunny is one of the most successful musicians of the current time

Bad Bunny is currently one of the biggest musicians, with more than 66.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. He also held the top spot for most listened artist on the platform in both 2020 and 2021.

His song Me Porto Bonito has been played more than one billion times, and I Like It (with Cardi B and J Balvin) has even recorded more than 1.4 billion plays.

With all this success, it is clearly important to Bad Bunny that he is still treated like a human being, and not like an object. He continues to stand by his actions despite the negative press coverage.
