Backstreet Boys give tearful tribute to Aaron Carter during London concert
London, UK - Nick Carter and the Backstreet Boys emotionally paid tribute to the late Aaron Carter during their London concert.
On Sunday evening, the pop stars, who are currently on a six-country tour overseas, honored the 34-year-old younger brother of Nick, who tragically passed away on Saturday.
As shown in a clip that was posted by the theater website and Twitter account All That Dazzles and has since circulated, Backstreet's Kevin Richardson paused midway through the group's concert at the O2 Arena to tell the crowd, "Tonight we got a little bit of heavy hearts because we lost one of our family members yesterday."
"We just wanted to find a moment in our show to recognize that Nick's little brother, Aaron Carter, passed away yesterday at 34 years old," the singer continued.
"He was a part of our family and we thank you guys for all the love and all the well-wishes and all the support."
The footage showed Nick being embraced by his bandmates, including his cousin Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, and Howie Dorough.
According to People, a montage of Nick and Aaron was show during the set while the song No Place played in the background.
Hilary Duff and Aaron Carter's twin Angel honor late star on Instagram
The gut-wrenching moment comes on the heels of Nick's personal tribute on social media to his little brother following the news of his passing.
The teen star was found unresponsive in the bathtub at his Lancaster, California, home. His cause of his death is still being investigated, yet Nick wrote that "addiction and mental illness is the real villain here."
Many celebrities and fans have since honored the Aaron's Party artist, including his ex-girlfriend, Hilary Duff.
The Lizzie McGuire star wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday, "For Aaron – I'm deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent…boy did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy."
Aaron's twin sister Angel Conrad also broke her silence on her brother's death by sharing throwback photos of the two and writing she that loved him "beyond measure."
"My funny, sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and I, and I promise to cherish them. I know you’re at peace now. I will carry you with me until the day I die and get to see you again."
