Anne Heche reportedly passes away after being pulled off life support
Los Angeles, California - Actor Anne Heche has reportedly passed away.
The actor had been in a coma with severe injuries at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital north of LA following a horrific car accident on August 5 where she crashed into a residential house, setting it on fire.
The news of her passing was confirmed by Heche's friend Nancy Davis via Instagram: "Heaven has a new Angel. My loving, kind, fun, endearing and beautiful friend @anneheche went to heaven. I will miss her terribly and cherish all the beautiful memories we have shared. Anne was always the kindest, most thoughtful person who always brought out the best in me."One day before her passing, a rep for Heche's family said the 53-year-old had a severe anoxic brain injury and was not expected to live. The rep also noted that she was being kept on life support to assess whether any of her organs were viable to be donated, as doing so had "long been her choice."
Ellen DeGeneres, who dated Heche from 1997-2000, commented on the tragic news of her passing via Twitter: "This is a sad day. I'm sending Anne's children, family and friends all of my love."
Heche is survived by her two children: Atlas Heche Tupper (13) and Homer Laffoon (20).
