Angelina Jolie revealed as author of FBI lawsuit after Brad Pitt incident
Los Angeles, California -Back in April, an anonymous lawsuit was filed against the FBI over its decision not to charge Brad Pitt for an alleged assault incident against Angelina Jolie in 2016. Now, that "Jane Doe" plaintiff has been identified as the Maleficent star herself!
TMZ cited a sourced who confirmed Jolie as the person who sued the federal agency under the Freedom of Information Act, demanding to know the reasons for the lack of action against Pitt.
According to court documents obtained by Puck, the incident that Jolie wanted to be investigated involved a drunk Pitt allegedly pouring beer on her and assaulting her, as well as their son Maddox, while aboard an airplane.
Things went as far as a statement of probable cause being drafted by law enforcement, but the FBI later announced that Pitt would not be charged.
Sources close to Pitt told TMZ that they believe Jolie is only bringing up the issue again now, six years later, in order to bring the serious allegations back into the spotlight.
The two have also been embroiled in a heated custody battle since their marriage of 12 years ended. Jolie wanted to allow her children to testify in her defense in court earlier this year, but was barred by the judge from doing so.
Pitt continues to deny the assault allegations, claiming the FBI did not charge him because there was no evidence to support Jolie's claims.
