Amanda Bynes' Nickelodeon costars lend support ahead of conservatorship hearing
Los Angeles, California - Amanda Bynes' former Nickelodeon costars have offered their support ahead of the first hearing for the termination of her conservatorship.
On Monday, TMZ reported that Bynes is gearing up for her court appearance, scheduled for this Tuesday, over the potential termination of her conservatorship.
However, the Nickelodeon alum will have the support of two of her former castmates.
Per the outlet, Bynes' All That costar Leon Frierson will be at the LA courthouse for the hearing, and has also convinced fellow castmate Christy Knowings to lend her support.
Knowings won't be able to physically appear at the hearing, but she reportedly told the site, "If it were me, I would want people to support me. Amanda's a very different person today from the person she was back then, as we all are."
The All That alum further shared that neither she nor Frierson have ulterior motives in publicly voicing support for Bynes. They simply want Bynes to know that they genuinely care about her.
"I know Amanda's a sweet person and loved working with her," Knowings added.
Last month, The Amanda Show star's attorney confirmed that Bynes had filed to end her nine-year-long conservatorship. Bynes has been placed under the arrangement since 2013, when Bynes' mother Lynn was granted temporary custody over her daughter after she set fire to a driveway using gasoline.
Earlier this month, the What I Like About You star addressed her conservatorship for the first time by thanking fans for their support following her decision to terminate it.
