Is Elon Musk opening his own airport in Austin?
Austin, Texas - Elon Musk might be opening his very own private airport right outside the Capital City.
As the Tesla CEO's war with Twitter wages on, it seems the world's richest man is trying to make moves in the airways sector.
According to Austonia, Musk is in the midst of developing plans for a private airport just east of Austin.
The SpaceX founder recently opened Tesla Giga Texas near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in April after he decided to relocate Tesla's headquarters from Palo Alto, California to the Austin area.
In June, Austin Business Journal reported that SpaceX had taken ownership of several acres near Bastrop County, just east of where Giga Texas is located.
In 2021, The Boring Company, another business founded by Musk, acquired a hefty amount of acreage in Bastrop County.
It seems that Musk's alleged plans to open a private airport in the area could be beneficial not just for the billionaire who was once rumored to live in a Lake Austin mansion – a claim he's denied – but also the businesses he operates in the area.
Musk has not publicly commented on his alleged plans to build a private airport outside the Capital City. Perhaps he's busy figuring out how to handle Twitter's recently announced shareholder vote for the takeover he's been trying to back out of.
