Video shows tense face off between man and tiger in Houston neighborhood
Houston, Texas- Wild videos of a Bengal tiger roaming a neighborhood in Houston, Texas on Sunday are circulating on social media!
Footage shows the predator walking quite comfortably between houses and vehicles, scaring the wits out of locals and passers-by.
One viral video shows an agitated man with a gun in his hand, keeping a safe distance from the animal while loudly warning the entire neighborhood.
The man, who turned out to be the Waller County Sheriff's deputy, told KHOU, "It did stalk me across the road but it did not look super aggressive. The last thing I wanted to do was shoot that tiger."
According to the Houston Chronicle, the tiger belonged to a local resident who said he was "with the zoo" when confronted.
The tiger was eventually loaded into a white Jeep Cherokee and taken away. Though the police have identified the handler, they have yet to find him or the tiger.

Many tigers are often kept illegally as exotic pets
Within the city limits of Houston, tigers are actually not allowed as pets – unless the owner has a license to keep exotic animals.
This particular tiger's owner does have such a license, but he still faces charges for putting his neighbors in danger.
According to the World Wildlife Fund, there are currently more captive tigers in the United States than there are specimens living in the wild.
Of the estimated 5,000 animals in the US, many are kept in backyards and left unregistered with authorities.
