While the teenager was on her way to the washing machine with her dirty laundry, a poisonous snake suddenly slithered out of her clothes onto the floor, 9News reported.

No sooner had the teenager recovered from the initial fright than the next one followed: the animal disappeared as quickly as it had come. Where was the dangerous snake now?

That's what snake catcher Heather had to find out after she was called to the scene. On Facebook, her team, the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7, posted a photo of where they found the slithery creature: the red-bellied black adder had taken refuge in the girl's asthma inhaler.

"It's one of the most incredible places we have ever found a snake before," the professional snake catchers said.

Red-bellied black adders can kill people

Stuart McKenzie, a member of the team, told 9News, "I couldn't imagine picking what it would be like picking it up and discovering it in there."

Of red-bellied black adders, the professional said, "They are just exploring, seeking food this time of year before it gets cold again."

According to the Australian Museum, red-bellied black adders are among the most commonly encountered venomous snakes on the east coast of Australia, and they are responsible for a number of bites each year.

However, these snakes are "shy" and generally only bite when provoked.

Symptoms of the venom include bleeding at the bite site, nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, sweating, localized or generalized muscle pain, and weakness.

According to the museum, a red-bellied black adder bite is very rarely fatal, but that should be reason enough for most to stay away from the animals...
