Shortest on earth? This tiny cow is going for a world record!
Bangladesh - This tiny cow looks like she could be a toy, but the animal has a personality all her own. Meet Rani, whose owners claim is the shortest cow on earth!
She doesn't even look real, but Rani the cow is currently an applicant to break the Guinness World Record as the shortest cow on earth.
Rani most likely won't grow any bigger than her current 20-inch height and 26-inch length, local news source The Tribune reported.
In fact, she weights just 57 pounds, about what a medium-sized dog would, and can be carried around by her owners!
If Guinness certifies her as a record holder, Rani would be beating out her competition by a full four inches, which is a lot for such a tiny gal! The current smallest cow, as of the record recorded in 2014, is Manikyam from India at 24.07 inches tall.
As wonderful as Rani is, her phenomenon has caused people to ignore Covid-19 precautions during a time when Bangladesh and India are facing some of the highest numbers of cases.
"More than 15,000 people have come to see Rani in the past three days alone," said Hasan Howlader, a manager at the Shikor Agro Farm where Rani lives. "We are tired. We did not expect such huge interest. People should not leave their homes because of the worsening COVID situation."
With fans now all over the world, it's not likely that her visitors are going to stop coming by to take selfies any time soon.
