Raccoon ceiling: Florida woman discovers five furry guests literally crash at her place!

Tallahassee, Florida - When Haley Iliff returned home last Saturday after a trip to New York , she could hardly believe her eyes: daylight was streaming through a huge hole in the ceiling of her beloved bedroom.

As if that sight wasn't shocking enough, she quickly realized that some very unwelcome guests had made themselves at home in her bedroom.

Haley soon found herself calling for help, and no wonder! When a fully-grown raccoon claims your place as its territory, it will be more than ready to defend it!

The Floridian documented the experience on her Twitter account and shared the incredible footage.

Haley was informed by wildlife rescue services that she wasn't alone with her new roommate, as they believed she was dealing with a momma who was looking after her babies. Her offspring were probably tucked away somewhere in the growing nest the animals were making out Haley's belongings.

Unfortunately, there was no help available immediately, so the terrified woman had to spend the night in a house invaded by raccoons.

The following day, everything changed again – and definitely not for the better.

Overnight, the raccoon had clearly managed to spread the word about this promising-looking shelter, because there were now five intruders sitting in Haley's apartment.

They had somehow made their way into the upstairs office – and left destruction in their wake.

Haley shared the pictures of chaos with her Twitter followers. The raccoons had completely trashed her bedroom, scattered her belongings on the floor, and even decided her bed was a fancy new toilet.

"No idea how much this is gonna to cost me," the exasperated Haley wrote.

Luckily, her roommate was at least able to save a cherished favorite stuffed animal, Gary Jerry, from what she's sure would have been a "a slow and torturous demise."

The raccoons have since been removed from the house, but the incident is probably going to haunt Haley for a while yet. "This just feels like bullying," she tweeted, along with a snapshot of a sponsored Instagram post that popped up on her feed.

It was a Build-A-Bear ad – featuring a stuffed raccoon toy.
