National Pumpkin Day: US zoos celebrate with smashing social media posts!
Cincinnati, Ohio - In honor of National Pumpkin Day, zoos across the USA posted pics and videos of their animals munching down on orange gourds.
If you give zoo animals pumpkins, they will much their way to thousands if not millions of views on social media.
That's exactly what happened when hippos at the Cincinnati Zoo were introduced to the Halloween symbol.
The clip, which has more than 7 million views, features the huge hippos and baby Fritz demolishing pumpkins with their jaws. You can hear the crowd react in awe to the sound of the pumpkin crunch.
But the Cincinnati Zoo wasn't the only one to post vids of their animals having the time of their lives with pumpkins.
Animals munching, chomping, and licking gourds is clearly a smash hit online.

Compilation videos of animals chowing down on perfect pumpkins racked up thousands of views.
Brookfield Zoo of Illinois had National Pumpkin Day posts featuring a tortoise, goats, a bear, and a porcupine enjoying orange gourds raked in almost 4,000 views on TikTok and 9,000 on Twitter.
The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Washington posted multiple clips of their animals munching, squishing and attacking pumpkins on Twitter and TikTok.
The most popular Twitter post features Tilli the aardvark sniffing a huge squash.
Zoos across the US have been giving their wards big pumpkins for play and nutrition since spooky season began. So if you need some feel gourd clips, make sure to check out your local zoo's social media feed on Halloween!
