Godzilla shopping at a 7-Eleven: Incredible footage of giant lizard goes viral
Bangkok, Thailand - Shoppers got more than they bargained for when a giant lizard stepped into a 7-Eleven supermarket outside Bangkok and wreaked havoc on the shelves.
A video shows the six-foot-long animal climbing the store shelves and leaving behind a path of destruction with its sturdy legs.
Once on top, the lizard makes itself feel at home, sprawling out near an ice machine.
Meanwhile, people can be heard screaming and laughing in the background.
The clip, recorded by Narumpa Tangsin, has since gone viral, with millions of views coming from around the world.
The incident took place in Nakhon Pathom, a town just outside Bangkok. The lizard might have come from a nearby canal and walked into the shop in search of food due to recent months of dry weather.
A store employee called the police who then brought reptile handlers to catch the giant creature. The handlers dragged the lizard out of the store and lured it towards a nearby brush.

The dangerous-looking banded monitor lizards are not uncommon in Thailand, but they are usually considered harmless.
