Try as he might, this dog can't get to the good stuff!

Budapest, Hungary - This little dog tried his best to get what he wanted, but it's a good thing he couldn't reach his intended snack.

Casper the dog now has 10,300 followers on his Instagram account. Fans love the clumsy, funny corgi-husky mix.

Casper showed his silly determination once again on Christmas. The dog, who lives with his family in Budapest, tried to open a large pyramid of Ferrero Rocher chocolates by biting and stubbornly pushing the package around the floor. His pointless struggle amused his owner, who uploaded a 30-second clip of it.

Before Casper became a beloved family member and an up-and-coming influencer, things weren't always so great for the small dog.

Quite the opposite was true, according to the Daily Mail: the dog was almost euthanized at an animal shelter five years ago.

Dogs should not eat chocolate

Luckily Casper didn't manage to get hold of the chocolate, as he probably wouldn't have been able to stomach it.

On January 8, 2016, Casper was adopted by the family that loves and films him today.

Before his adoption, he had earned the name Casper because he always howled like a ghost while he was at the shelter.

But Casper the dog wasn't a friendly ghost. He was so loud that the staff was getting ready to put him down.

Lucky for the fur ball, he was saved from certain death by his adopted owners. They shared that Casper wasn't in great shape when they got him. The poor dog had several wounds, and he was missing a tooth.

Despite his injuries, Casper made himself right at home when he came into their apartment for the first time. He immediately stole a sausage from the kitchen table.

As is clear from the clip, the corgi-husky mix is still set on stealing the family's food, but no matter how hard Casper tried to break open the package, his efforts were in vain. This was another lucky break for Casper because chocolate can be dangerous – if not deadly – for dogs.

Since his adoption, the "crazy corgi" has been making his family and followers laugh with all kinds of silly antics.
