Tiny dog flies solo and hops on a train trip of a lifetime
Wiltshire, UK - A dog eager to travel recently set off to apparently see the world solo – or at least her hometown.
This well-traveled pup knows where she's going.
Last Thursday, the Wiltshire Council Public Protection Service in the UK was called to step in during a cute but strange discovery at Westbury Railway station.
Someone reported an abandoned dog on a local train. But when train staff managed to rescue the little lady, they realized she was not wearing a collar or harness.
Fortunately, she had a microchip, and could soon be reunited with her owner Miranda Holman Robertson.
The pup's name? Pugsie Myfanwy.
Yet, when Pugsie's owner arrived at the station, she revealed a very peculiar story about the dog's journey.
And it seems Pugsie had gone rogue.
Pugsie, a tiny dog, really love trains and escapades
It turns out Pugsie just has an adventurous streak.
She had been out for a walk with her owner and another four-legged-friend when all of a sudden, the pup disappeared.
It seems Pugsie escaped, headed to the train station by herself, trotted onto the platform, and "hopped on the first train," according to a Facebook post by the Wiltshire Council Public Protection Service.
Fortunately, nothing happened to the cuddly companion during her escapades, and she and Robertson were reunited "just in time for tea!"
Facebook users were ecstatic about the doggy rescue, although some worried about Pugsie's safety.
"One lucky pup!" commented a Facebook user. "Could have ended up anywhere!"
Another agreed the dog was lucky to be alive: "How many roads did that dog cross? She could have jumped onto the tracks."
Yet, Robertson assured concerned commenters that she and Pugsie were walking in a rural area away from roads when she escaped.
"She just darted back to the train station," she added. "She really loves trains..."
