TikTok outraged after Southwest passengers booted from flight in puppy petting incident!
Colorado Springs, Colorado - TikTok isn't pleased with Southwest Airlines after footage of them kicking a passenger and her eight-week-old puppy off the flight went online. What's more, the airline also booted people who stuck up for them.
TikTok user Sara Price was on a flight scheduled to go from Colorado to California when things went south.
Susan, the woman seated next to Sara, got kicked off the flight for trying to calm her puppy.
She was flying with her eight-week-old canine companion named Sitka, who was in its carrier. The excitable pooch started whining during boarding, as the New York Post reported.
A flight attendant then allegedly told Susan: "If that dog continues to make noise you may not be able to fly."
In an attempt to soothe the ruffled pooch, Susan opened the carrier and started petting Sitka.
But same flight attendant returned and insisted the carrier had to be closed at all times. Even then, Susan tried to comply by comforting Sitka through the top of the carrier, but that apparently still wasn't enough. Flight attendants decided to boot her and her pup from the flight!
Sara caught the woman's expulsion from the plan on camera and shared it to TikTok. The footage went viral and the clip boasts almost two million views.
Passengers think removing the puppy is "ridiculous"
"Everyone around us was like, what's going on here," Sara Price wrote in the caption of her TikTok clip, which shows the puppy owner's expulsion from the Southwest flight.
The footage shows the woman vowing to "never fly Southwest again" and exiting the plane.
Sara's husband can be heard saying, "We wish you the best of luck, honey… this is ridiculous."
He also tells the flight attendant, "You should be ashamed of yourself" – which is what ended up getting both him and Sara kicked off the flight for their "attitude," as per a follow-up video.
The three passengers make it home on a different airline
After being booted from the Southwest flight, the three passengers reportedly booked a flight with United Airlines and got home without any further glitches.
A spokesperson for Southwest Airlines defended its crew's decisions, and told the New York Post: "We’re aware of the videos and our initial reports indicate that the customer would not comply with keeping her dog’s kennel closed, which is our policy."
Per Sara's TikTok update, she and her husband's tickets have been reimbursed, but Sara's still advocating for Susan and her poor puppy.
