The Fox and the Hound: unique animal duo melts Instagram users' hearts
London, UK - This animal duo is currently melting thousands of hearts! Pumpkin, a petite, blind fox, gets daily assistance from her best friend: a small white terrier named Jack, who uses a wheelchair.
Ana Lapaz-Mendez, a 42-year-old vet, took in the Westie puppy in August last year, just two months after she opened her North London home to a blind fox named Pumpkin.
The two have been a pair and shared a very special relationship ever since, with Jack taking special care of the little fox.
Several videos on Ana's Instagram account show little Pumpkin following the terrier on walks in the woods and park. The fox takes her cues mainly from smells and the rattling of Jack's wheels.
As soon as Pumpkin gets distracted by something and loses her sense of orientation, Jack immediately stops and waits for her to catch up to him.
And he doesn't just lead the way – he also makes sure to keep her away from other animals!

These two siblings are inseperable
"Jack was really slow at first and didn’t know the area so he’d follow me and then Pumpkin would follow him," Ana told Metro.
Now, the little dog is much better at moving with his wheels, and he's no longer afraid to chase after a squirrel now and then. But he always comes back to see where his sister is.
The two of them are like real siblings. Just like brothers and sisters, they don't always get along.
Ana said that the two fight from time to time, especially when Jack gets annoyed by how clingy Pumpkin is being. "He tells Pumpkin off a lot," the vet explaining, adding that he does so in a loving and concerned way.
As difficult as things can be between the two at times, both Ana and the little fox can count on Jack to always be there for his sister.
