An incredible scene unfolded in the Indian village of Bilinele on Wednesday. The News Minute, reported that a street dog tried to run away from a leopard during the night, but its escape came to an abrupt end when the two ran into a toilet and got stuck in there.

At around 7 AM, a resident wanted to use the restroom. When she opened the door, the local woman saw the leopard's tail and quickly closed and locked the door.

She immediately alerted her neighbors and the police.

But the locals couldn't save the dog just yet – they needed a plan to deal with wild cat. So, for seven long hours while the authorities devised a plan to catch the leopard, the animals were trapped together in the small room, which is separate from the main house.

The crazy situation led to some stunning video footage and pictures. The leopard is clearly dangerous and jumped at the person filming the video, while the stray dog cowered in the bathroom. A reporter for The News Minute shared the scenes on his Twitter account.

The longer it took for the situation to be resolved, the more onlookers gathered to try to catch a glimpse of the leopard.

Finally, at around 2 PM, officers stretched several nets around the bathroom building and removed the roof, so that they could shoot the leopard with a tranquilizer.

But the nets were no match for the wild animal, and before they could shoot it the cat was able to escape.

Fortunately, the leopard did not attack anyone in the crowd that had gathered. And the poor pooch survived the ordeal as well. It was petrified with fear, but unharmed, and the authorities had to carried it out of the building, as a video of the rescue shows.

The dog was probably just as shocked as the locals that it had survived such a hairy situation.
