Puppy that's half husky and half dachshund makes for "one heck of a mix"
When one dog owner shared their mixed-breed pup with the internet, fans were smitten with the peculiar mix!
The parents of puppy Todd are quite different – both in appearance and character. But the husky and dachshund have produced a very unusual four-legged friend.
Todd, it seems, got some strong characteristics from both puppy parents!
Dog owner FiestaRaquel proudly showed off his extraordinary dog on Reddit.
"I adopted a husky dachshund mix," they explained in a post.
Their pictures of Todd inspired hundreds of other users to chime in about the "rare pupper," and his intriguing look.
Puppy looks like his husky and dachshund parents
Todd appears to have different colored eyes – one blue and one brown – which is a common trait of huskies. He also has black and white coloring, reminiscent of his Siberian Husky dad.
Yet, Todd's physique is completely different from that of a husky. Instead of a large and muscular stature, the puppy has the body of a dachshund with short legs, a long nose, and floppy ears.
Many users celebrated the dog's peculiar appearance.
"He's both beautiful and fascinating!" one wrote, while another commented, "Lord have mercy, that's one heck of a mix."
As Todd's owner posted more pics of their pet, users wondered what drawbacks the doggy combination may have produced.
"That's like the ultimate high maintenance combo," one user wrote. Others guessed that the two breeds may have caused "incessant barking and howling," or a "paranoid high-strung, barky, oversized bladder dog."
Another pet owner joked: "And I was here thinking my chihuahua pitbulls were something special."
Todd's owner has yet to comment on his mix's personality, but the pup is certainly continuing to turn heads!
