Puppy lives inside a broken TV set in heartbreaking discovery

Opole, Poland - A heartbreaking story has detailed the rescue of an abused three-month-old puppy that was shockingly forced to live inside a broken TV set.

TOZ Opole, an animal rights group in Poland, got tipped-off that a furry friend might need to be rescued ASAP. When they arrived at the scene on Saturday, they made a heart-wrenching discovery.

"The intervention has once again taken away our faith in people," volunteers wrote on the organization's Facebook page.

They went on to reveal that they had previously rescued a dog two years ago from an elderly woman, who was accused of beating and chaining up the pup.

Now, the woman had struck again and held the newly discovered puppy captive from a neighbor.

"She kept this one outside, fed him with moldy bread, and an old TV case was used [as a shelter]," the volunteers wrote of the dire situation.

In addition, the dog "crumbles and urinates at the sight of an outstretched hand."

"And when a human approaches him, he freezes in place and only shakes, staring ... as if waiting for the next blow!"

Based on the dog's behavior, the rescuers believe the "frozen and starved" pup was "systematically beaten."

The puppy has since been named "Muffin" "to sweeten this unfortunate situation," they said.

The volunteers hope to restore the animal's trust in people and find him a new home, "where he will never know hunger or fear."

Because of TOZ Opole's work, Muffin will hopefully get a happily ever after soon enough.
