Police officer finds two injured pit bulls on the road and doesn't leave their side

Orange County, Florida - Patrick Hennessey from Orange County, Florida, was on his way to work when he spotted two injured pit bulls in the middle of the road. Who could have abandoned the poor puppies?

It was early in the morning when the police officer came across the dogs.

Hennessey knew they were in need of help, with one of them bleeding, and didn't think twice about stopping his car and jumping out.

He called the Orange County Sheriff's Office, who sent two more officers along, according to pawsworld.me.

Deputy Reed and Deputy Boggs quickly rushed to the scene. It appeared the poor pups were just waiting for someone to save them, and they snuggled up to the cops as soon as they arrived. Meanwhile, the officers helped stop the bleeding of the injured animal's leg.

The deputies waited patiently with the dogs until Orange County Animal Services came and collected them. The shelter staffers later named the dogs Justice and Liberty.

Both are doing a lot better, and have been lovely to the staff.

"Deputies Boggs and Reed comforted the two scared dogs while waiting for Animal Services to arrive," Orange County Animal Services wrote on Facebook.

"These two ladies are now safe and thriving in our care."

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office followed up with a pup-date on Facebook, posting a heart-warming video in which Justice and Liberty were reunited with their hero cops. Clearly, they remembered their rescuers, as their tails were wagging with excitement.
