Miami Jaws! Dog attacked by shark while playing fetch

Miami, Florida - A small Florida dog is currently getting as much rest as possible after a game of Frisbee at the beach turned into a near-death experience.

Boobie suffered severe injuries to his left hind leg. After surgery, he is now doing a lot better.

Ana Laura Mañá and her beloved Boobie were walking and playing on Darwin Beach in Miami on February 9 when something happened that would traumatize the duo for life.

Without suspecting anything, the young woman kept throwing a Frisbee into the water for Boobie to fetch. And that's exactly what he did, having a blast.

But the fun soon turned into sheer horror. According to Mañá's Instagram post , suddenly a "six feet bullshark came out of nowhere" and bit the little dog.

Everyone panicked!

As Boogie's owner went on to say, this "horrifying experience" could have had a tragic end had she and other friends not intervened immediately.

They were able to save the little dogs life – but what about his left hind leg that suffered severe injuries? Boogie needed surgery immediately!

However, medical bills are expensive, and so Mañá set up a donation page on GoFundMe, hoping that others could help her cover Boogie's medical costs.

By now, more than $15,000 have been raised for little Boobie. Mañá is beside herself with joy. "All we can say is THANK YOU," she posted.

Fortunately, Boobie is expected to fully recover and is doing well, all things considered. However, he probably won't be going near the water anytime soon.
