Medical miracle: six-legged puppy is alive and kicking!
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - The Neel Veterinary Hospital in Oklahoma posted a picture of this special puppy and announced, "This is a miracle named Skipper." Skipper is special because no one thought she was going to survive.
That's because the little Aussie-Border Collie mix was born with two congenital conditions that gave her some extra parts and appendages.
Skipper has "has 1 head and chest cavity but 2 pelvic regions, 2 lower urinary tracts, 2 reproductive systems, 2 tails and 6 legs among other things" according to the animal hospital's Facebook post.
Doctors believe that Skipper had a womb mate that did not separate properly in utero.
And now, against all odds, Skipper the is doing fantastic! "Her organs appear to be in great shape, she is peeing and pooping, and is very strong!"
Skipper can even move all six legs and is eating and growing normally.
Six-legged pup adopted by caring mom
Skipper might be a miracle, but when she was born, her mother refused to feed or clean the tiny pup.
But luckily the Neel Veterinary Hospital took over caring for the pup and have found her a loving home.
The new owners set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for any future physical therapy or operations the little six-legged dog may need.
But right now she is at her new home and growing exactly as she should while being bottle-fed. Nevertheless, the vets want to continue to monitor her condition and her development. They want to do everything they can "to give Skipper a pain-free life."
On Monday morning, Skipper's new parents announced on the Facebook page Skippers Journey that she is already on the move all the way out of her little bed!

Skipper is doing more than alright
Monday her new parents posted and update, "She has learned to climb out of her bed. She is moving well, eating well, and the potty issues have resolved."
"We are continuing to encourage her to build strength and she is pushing herself to do more."
Skipper is the right weight for her age and is reaching all the major milestones.
It seems like little "miracle" is well on her way to a happy and healthy life.
