Horgi: This husky and corgi mix is short but sweet
Iowa - The husky and corgi crossbreed makes for playful puppies that are loyal, energetic, and outgoing. Though these dogs tend to be short, they are both smart and sweet.
Huskies are famously big, strong dogs, bred to pull sleds and herd animals. They've got smarts and steely blue eyes.
Corgis, on the other hand, are known and loved for their little legs and bright personalities.
When these two beloved dog breeds mate, they make a unique crossbreed known as a Horgi.
These dogs tend to get the best personality traits of both their parents, but their looks are less predictable, especially when it comes to their coats.
On Instagram, you can see a whole bunch of #horgis with various coat colors. Some are clearly husky-like while others favor their light-colored corgi parentage. That said, this crossbreed doesn't usually get the husky's height. They tend to be shaped more like their corgi parent.
One such adorable mix named Walker lives in Iowa. His mother was a husky and his father a corgi. This little horgi clearly has his mother's bold blue eyes, but he didn't get her height. Instead, he's got his dad's adorable short legs and sandy-colored coat.

Horgis are great family dogs
As is clear from Instagram, horgis come in a whole range of colors, and some are more corgi-like than others.
According to Petguide.com, the horgi is great for families. These doggos tend to be loyal, energetic, and ready for any and every adventure. Despite their short legs, they love a long walk or run.
The pooches are known as people pleasers and tend to get along with both children and other animals. This breed has a life span of about 12 to 15 years and is all about being part of the family and taking care of it.
But this breed doesn't make for great watch dogs. They just don't have the bite, though they can be trained to have a loud bark.
