Taco, the big fluffy light blond Golden Retriever, is all about his family, as is clear from his TikTok channel.

He's the first to sound the alarm when his best friend, toddler Vanora, wakes up from her nap.

In this sweet TikTok, Taco alerts his owner that the baby is awake by nudging her with his nose and excitedly trotting over to the locked room where Vanora is sleeping.

"Taco just came and booped my hands while I was working. He is definitely her protector," the caption reads.

As soon as the door is open, the pooch pushes his way in, sits down next to the crib and happily scratches himself. There's his baby buddy, awake and standing in her crib.

Vanora's mom probably doesn't even need a baby monitor with such a diligent pooch protector around! As the caption to a post on the pair's Instagram account says, they're truly "Best friends fuerever."

TikTok users were all about having a dog for a baby monitor and thought Taco's protective behavior was adorable, the video with more than 800,000 views has almost 90,000 likes.

Most gushed over the retriever-baby duo, with every second comment calling the duo "cute," "sweet," or "beautiful."

There's also a lot curiosity about Taco's sudden itchiness when he reaches the toddler's crib. His and Vanora's mom thinks that he gets itchy because he's so happy to see is buddy.

"Excitement is one of the reasons dogs start scratching themselves. he's probably happy to see the baby," one commenter wrote in agreement.
