UK - A new TikTok of a fun prank has proven once again that dogs are just simply the best.

A pet owner and her "needy Rottweiler" have gone viral after a funny puppy prank has gotten nine million views and counting.

The clip lasts just 17 seconds - but is enough time for a whole 'lotta animal entertainment.

In the vid, the pet owner sits next to her dog Nala, and quite obviously has concocted a cunning plan.

"Freeze and see your dog's reaction," she challenged viewers.

After petting her Rott, she abruptly stops in order to test her pet, and pretends to be frozen.

She looks directly at Nala, but otherwise keeps completely still.

How does her four-legged-friend react?

First, Nala looks to the side, confused because the petting has stopped.

Then, the doggo does something hilarious and unexpected.

In response, Nala mimics her owner... and also freezes on the spot! She doesn't move again until her owner does - proving pups really are man's best friend.

The post received tons of love on social media, garnering almost 900,000 likes on TikTok and 40,000 more on Instagram.

"Oh my god, it's so cute how quickly she matches her face to yours," wrote one user. "She challenged you at your own game and won!" commented another.

"You just lost a staring contest to a dog," joked a third.
