What seems like an ordinary, cute animal video at first glance is actually so much more.

When little Russell was just a few weeks old, his owners noticed that something was wrong with him. He was quieter than other puppies his age and also didn't really romp around as dogs his age normally do.

Worried, the family went to the vet, who didn't have good news for the three of them: Russell was diagnosed with parvovirus, and the chances that he would survive the next few days were only about 50%.

The Dodo shared that Russell was a candidate for infusion therapy, but the treatment and fight for his life took every bit of strength he had in him.

Back home, his owners did everything they could to make him as stress-free and comfortable as possible – so his owner decided to pull out the guitar and play some gentle tunes for his little friend.

The goal was to keep the little rascal awake – and it seemed to work.

The puppy enjoyed the quiet music to the fullest, while looking at his owner intently the whole time.

Neither his owners nor Russell were about to give up, and he fought day after day for himself and his new parents.

Thankfully, it all paid off. About two weeks after he had finished his therapy, he slowly began to get better and better.

The relationship between the dog and his owner is stronger than ever since they started playing music together, and they can't imagine life without each other.

Now one of Russell's absolute favorite pastimes is entertaining people from all over the world with his Instagram and TikTok accounts.
