Lost cat saunters back home after going missing for two years

Pennsylvania - After two years of wondering what happened to her beloved cat Q-tip, Eris had finally admitted to herself the animal was probably long gone or dead. Then suddenly the cat walked back into the house as if she'd never gone missing.

This week, the proud and perplexed cat owner named Eris took to Reddit to share pictures and the unbelievable story of her lost cat's return. Users on Reddit's r/MadeMeSmile forum were over the moon – as was the cat owner herself.

According to Eris, Q-tip appeared out of thin air about two years after she first disappeared in November 2020.

"My sibling was opening the door to turn the porch light off and they turned to me and said 'you are not going to believe who just walked into the house,'" Eris told Newsweek.

When Eris saw her 10-year-old ginger cat, she said her first reaction was to grab the kitty and yell for the rest of the family.

Finding Q-tip was a dream come true. "I honestly don't think I've stopped smiling since, though after a few hours and everything calmed down I did cry," Eris shared.

Cat owner says it's "surreal" to have Q-tip back

Eris says she took to Reddit because her joy should be shared: "I shared my story on Reddit because I was happy and wanted other people to be happy too because my baby came home."

But the happy cat owner said she went through a rollercoaster of emotions when Q-tip came back. "It's very strange having her home," said Eris. "Two years ago she was laying on my bed as I went to sleep and she hasn't been there since and here she is. It feels surreal."

Reddit users were amazed by the story, and some joked that the cat had some explaining to do.

Sadly, this cat isn't telling, or at least she isn't sharing her story in a language we humans understand.

In the pics, Q-tip looks pretty pleased to be home with her family. Hopefully the furry feline is back for good!
