Panic-stricken, the indoor kitty climbed up a 75-foot Douglas fir tree!

Once he was up the tall tree, Clyde couldn't get back down on his own.

Clyde was finally freed after Tom Otto, an employee at a non-profit animal welfare organization that specializes in rescuing cats from trees, received a call from the cat's family.

Clyde's family had been desperately searching for the cat before hearing his weak cries in the huge fir tree.

Otto set out to finally free Clyde and was soon able to look into the relieved face of the four-legged friend.

"He was really, really happy to see me," the animal lover told The Dodo.

"We are so grateful to have found him," the rescue organization wrote on Facebook.

"He was a bit thin when we got him down, but is now doing well getting lots of love from his very relieved family."

Otto, who has two rescued cats at home himself, knows exactly how hard it can be when your beloved pet is in distress, so he was overjoyed to see Clyde reunited with his loved ones.

"It’s always super awesome to see a family be greeted by a cat that they’ve been missing," he said.
