Bunny-napped! British police on the prowl after "world's longest rabbit" disappears
Stoulton, UK - Police in England are on the hunt for the "world's longest rabbit" after he was stolen from his owner's garden.
The Continental Giant rabbit named Darius measures 4 feet and 3 inches in lenght, according to the Guinness World Records, and has held the title since 2010.
Owner Annette Edwards spoke of a "very sad day", as the news agency PA reported on Tuesday night.
She called on the culprits via Twitter to return the Continental Giant and offered a £1,000 ($1,371) reward for his safe return.
At the venerable age of 11, Darius is considered very old for a rabbit, and is much old to be used for breeding.
But given the fact that he was at one point insured for $1.6 million, as Edwards told TODAY in 2010, the pet burglars probably have other uses on their mind.
The animal was probably stolen in the night on April 10, according to the police police said.
